Interpage FAXTest Fax Monitoring/Failure Notification

The Interpage FAXTest service monitors one or more fax machines, fax servers or fax modem banks, and upon detecting a failure or fault, will send messages to cellphones, pagers, and e-mail, alternate fax destinations, or call via synthesized voice to alert on-call staff that a failure condition exists or a line is not working and requires attention.

FAXTest can regularly or by a fixed schedule (such as overnight only) check fax lines/modems/servers, and provides the assurance and peace of mind that a significant component of your firm or organization's communication infrastructure is working and operational at all times. Fax test can test for and alert when failures occur for both incoming and outgoing fax traffic on a given machine, line, or service.

FAXTest Service Overview

Are your/your company's incomingand outgoing fax lines working? Does your company or organization send or receive many faxes and depends on fax machines, fax modem banks, fax lines or an outsourced fax server or system to be operative at all times? Do you know if your or your fax service provider's fax systems are currently working, so that timely, critical or other important fax messages can get through? Interpage's FAXTest service can help ensure 100% reliability by monitoring any given fax-based system and report back immediately when a failure is detected.

Companies and entities which require that 24-hour uptime and reliability for both incoming and outgoing faxes and their respective machines, equipment, or those of their (outsourced) fax providers may utilize Interpage's FAXTest service to detect when a fax line or modem which they send faxes to others with, or one where they receive faxes from, is not working, malfunctioning, or unavailable, allowing for a timely response before a critical situation arises.

FAXTest may also be utilized by fax service providers and similar organizations offering consolidated/centralized fax services to customers to test the quality and reliability of sent faxes, as well as to ensure that their incoming fax equipment and lines are able to properly receive faxes.

FAXTest can provide companies which rely on faxing as well as suppliers of fax services the peace of mind knowing that their inbound and outbound fax machines, lines and fax services are working and fully operational at all times with scheduled tests throughout the day (or at customer scheduled intervals or periods). If an error or problem is detected, such as a failure with a given fax line to send or receive faxes, the FAXTest service will immediately send any number of text/SMS messages, alpha/numeric pages, emails, faxes, and even place voice calls to alert on-call staff and any destination in a group messaging list that a fault has been detected with a given FAX machine or line and requires attention.

FAXTest alerts may also optionally be filtered by caller/sender, time, or day of the week via a web-based (or telnet-based) scheduling interface, so that only "on-call" personnel or those responsible for a given set of fax lines or services are notified in the event of a failure. The FAXTest schedule interface may be accessed from any browser, or via a text-based interface without the use of a web/HTML-based browser, allowing changes and modifications to a notification regime to be made instantly, from anywhere, and changes take effect immediately.

A demonstration of the Web-based "scheduler" is available here; please log in as guest and leave the password blank. You may also connect via telnet to interpage.net, log in as guest, and select option 6 from the main menu.
